In a world of mass production, there is something quietly revolutionary about choosing handmade.
When you pick up a piece of Ruby Acorn jewelry, you are holding something that has never existed before and never will again. That's not marketing language — it's simply the nature of handcraft. Every bead chosen, every wire wrapped, every clasp secured is a decision made by human hands with thought and care.
Where It All Begins

Every Ruby Acorn piece starts with a feeling. Maybe it's the way afternoon light filters through autumn leaves, or the memory of a tide pool full of color and life. From our small studio in Colorado, we translate those moments into wearable art — sourcing the finest components from around the world, from ancient Roman glass fragments to hand-blown lampwork beads crafted by master artisans.
Inspiration can strike anywhere — a walk through a Colorado mountain trail, the iridescent wing of a dragonfly, the colors of a Mexican market at midday. We collect these moments and carry them back to the studio, where they slowly become something you can wear.
The Materials We Choose — and Why

We are deliberate about every component that goes into a Ruby Acorn piece. We don't use fillers or shortcuts — every bead, stone, and finding is chosen because it belongs.
- Ancient Roman glass — genuine fragments excavated from archaeological sites in the Middle East, over 2,000 years old. The iridescent aquas and ocean blues are created by centuries underground, not by dye or treatment. Wearing Roman glass means wearing actual history.
- Artisan lampwork glass — hand-blown by master glass artists, each bead is a tiny sculpture. No two are identical. We source from artists whose work moves us.
- Natural gemstones — amethyst, labradorite, moonstone, garnet, turquoise and more. We choose stones for their beauty, their energy, and the stories they carry.
- Sterling silver — used for findings, wire, and accents. We choose silver for its timeless quality and its ability to let the stones and glass speak.
The Hands Behind the Work

Ruby Acorn was founded by a self-taught jewelry designer who has been creating since 2006. As a woman of color with deep Mexican heritage, our work is infused with a love of color, storytelling, and the kind of beauty that doesn't ask permission. Each piece is made one at a time, by hand, with no shortcuts.
That Mexican heritage runs deep in our love of bold color combinations, layered textures, and jewelry that tells a story. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant visual culture of Mexico — the flowers, the textiles, the celebrations — shaped an eye for color that finds its way into every piece we make.
How a Piece Is Born

Making a Ruby Acorn piece is never a straight line. It begins with laying out components — stones, glass, beads — and letting them speak to each other. Some combinations reveal themselves immediately. Others take days of rearranging before they feel right.
Once the design feels true, the work begins: stringing, wrapping, knotting, securing. Every connection point is checked and reinforced. The clasp is tested. The piece is worn, adjusted, worn again. Only when it feels exactly right does it leave the studio.
It is slow work. Intentional work. And that slowness is the point.
Why One-of-a-Kind Matters
When something is mass-produced, it belongs to everyone. When something is handmade and one-of-a-kind, it belongs to you. There is a quiet joy in knowing that no one else in the world is wearing exactly what you're wearing — that your jewelry is as unique as you are.
Handmade jewelry also carries something intangible: the energy of the person who made it. The focus, the care, the love of the craft. We believe you can feel that when you wear it.
A Piece Worth Keeping
Fast fashion comes and goes. Handmade jewelry endures. Our pieces are made to be worn, loved, passed down, and remembered. They are not trends — they are heirlooms in the making.
When you choose Ruby Acorn, you're not just buying jewelry. You're choosing a story, a maker, and a moment that will never be repeated.
