Scilla Siberica 'Alba' Flower Bulbs

An early bloomer, Scilla Siberica 'Alba' will rock your garden with her snowy white flowers.  Each bulb produces 3 - 4 stems with 3 - 5 flowers per stem.  An excellent choice for the border, and a wonderful naturalizer.  She is a sun lover and requires well drained soil.  Scilla is a great friend to butterflies and pollinators, and is critter resistant.  

Plant the bulbs 3 - 4” apart and 4” deep. 

Store bulbs in a cool dry spot with good air circulation and low humidity.  Most bulbs can tolerate temperatures between 38 and 70 F.  You will want to protect them from heat, frost and strong sunlight.  Ideally, you should plant your corms right away for best results.  Healthy ones should be firm to the touch.

Bulbs hate "wet feet."  Avoid planting in areas with poor drainage or standing water.  Planting when the soil temperature is too warm is the primary cause of stunted blooms.  Road salt and de-icing compounds are harmful to your buried treasures.  You should steer clear of areas where snow accumulates.  Crop rotation is key.  Avoid planting the same type of bulb in the same spot year after year to protect against Rhizoctonia.
