Storage . . . Store flower bulbs in a cool dry spot with good air circulation and low humidity until you are ready to plant them. Most flower bulbs should tolerate temperatures between 38-70 F. However, you will want to protect them from heat, frost and strong sunlight. Your flower bulbs should be firm to the touch.
Planting . . . It's best to plant your bulbs in the fall. Most bulbs require a minimum cold frame of 6 weeks to root properly. The optimal planting time is when nighttime temperatures are 40-50 degrees. Flower bulbs hate "wet feet!" Never plant them in areas with poor drainage or standing water. Planting bulbs when the soil temperature is too warm is the primary cause of stunted blooms. Road salt and de-icing compounds are harmful to flower bulbs; avoid areas where plowed snow accumulates.
We package our bulbs carefully and ship them quickly from our greenhouse to you. They arrive safely, ready to plant and thrive in your garden! Detailed planting instructions are included with each purchase.
